You can now play Super Mario Run for iPhone and iPad in the Apple Store

Although the game's launch won't happen until December 15, as announced last night on « The Tonight Show, » Nintendo will launch a demo of Super Mario Run for iPhone and iPad in the Apple Store, so users who visit Apple stores can play it and start enjoying what promises to be one of the hits of the year in the Apple App Store. All information below.

This is the first real Nintendo game for iPhone and iPad, after several unsuccessful « attempts » by the Japanese company. And those who have already been able to enjoy the game say that it exceeds expectations. Although it's a somewhat special platform game because it's also an « Endless Runner » in which Mario runs constantly and the user only has to touch the screen to jump and advance across platforms or avoid obstacles and enemies crossing the screen. In addition to the 24 levels that we can enjoy in the « conventional » mode, there is also a « Toad Rally » mode in which we compete on the Internet with other users to see who can get the most coins in a given time.

Super Mario Run will be priced at $9.99 (€9.99 we assume), which is higher than most games currently available on the App Store, but much lower than the price that a Super Mario game has on one of the video consoles for which it is available, so given that the first reviews are very favorable, we have no doubt that it will be one of the great successes of the year in the App Store. Those of you who go to an Apple Store from today will be able to check it for yourself by playing this little demo that you will surely miss, but remember that there is only a week left for the final version to reach the App Store. Android users will have to wait until next year, with no specific date. We do not know if this demo will also be present at Premium Reseller and other authorized points of sale.
