  • To stock Android
  • The end of launchers?

After the introduction of the Small launcherXiaomi is ready to implement functions such as the app drawer and shortcut apps also in the new version of its software: MIUI 11.

The latest alpha update of MIUI 10, version number, now supports tray application. A new icon allows access to the application list directly from homepage. Additionally, still in the latest update, support for application shortcut. A long press on an icon will open a menu with different options, originally introduced in Android 7.

To stock Android

Xiaomi is therefore preparing to follow a trend that started with Oxygen operating system, which offers features and looks like stock Android. In short, a path that MIUI 11 seems ready to follow.

As this is an alpha version, the changes mentioned above will probably not arrive on version 10, but on the next one: 11.

Another expected feature that MIUI 11 is expected to introduce is the dark mode, which allows you to darken the device interface. A solution also recently introduced by Apple with iOS 13.

The end of launchers?

Most Xiaomi users usually install third-party launchers. With the introduction of these innovations, Xiaomi is trying to stop this trend by adding these functions natively to its OS.
