Trump vs. Apple: No Mac Pro exemptions

No discount for Apple. With a tweet Donald Trump has announced that it does not intend to discount the Cupertino giant, targeted by the American President for moving the production of the latest Mac Pro to China.

Apple will not be given Tariff waiver, or relief, for Mac Pro parts that are made in China. Make them in the USA, no Tariffs!

Trump vs Apple: What Happens?

Of course, all this must be traced back to tug-of-war between China and the United States which has been going on for several weeks now, a tug-of-war started with Huawei’s ban, fortunately canceled a few weeks ago.

But that didn’t stop Trump from raising the i duties on about 200 billion of goods from China, including the components that bring Apple’s new supercomputer to life. The company responded by asking the Republican administration to exclude from the list the products necessary for the assembly of the Mac Pro, but the request apparently was not granted. What made the situation worse was then the comparison with what happened for the previous model, which was made in Texas.

The letter written by Apple on June 17 was worthless. The Cupertino company had in fact tried to explain what losses it would have entailed for the country increased duties on iPhones, iPads, AirPods, Macs and Apple TVs. motivation that evidently did not affect The Donald who yesterday closed the matter definitively with the aforementioned tweet.
