The new NVIDIA RTX 3060 video card is ready to hit the shelves
NVIDIA last December he unveiled the RTX 3060 video card, a cheaper alternative to the 3060 Ti, which has nothing to envy to higher-end GPUs. Now the official release date of the RTX 3060 which will arrive on the market at a recommended price of 339 euros.
NVIDIA RTX 3060, release date and price of the mid-range video card
The NVIDIA RTX 3060 is an affordable video card that outperforms even its higher-end counterparts in some areas. It doesn’t offer the same processing power as the Ti version with 13 TFLOP against 16.2 and “solo” 25 TFLOP ray tracing (versus about 39.7), but includes 12 GB of GDDR6 memory. That’s more than the 10GB of the RTX 3080 and the 8GB of the 3060 Ti. If you are looking for more memory, this video card is worth considering.
NVIDIA has set a release date for the GeForce RTX 3060: the February 25 at 18.00 (Italian time). But waiting will certainly not be the biggest challenge. The mid-range GPU, the first at this price point with ray tracing, will be pretty hard to find in stock. Indeed, NVIDIA is facing a lack of GPU availability for months. Another possibility is to find some models sold by third parties at an inflated price compared to that suggested by NVIDIA, that is 339 euros.
To try to fix the video card shortage, NVIDIA has resumed selling older GPUs, to have something available. The company is releasing stock of GTX 1050 Ti and RTX 2060 to its partners, noting that both cards still have a lot to give users in terms of performance. According to forecasts, the situation should return to normal around Aprilwhere it will be possible to buy the new video cards from NVIDIA without much difficulty.
