Spotted a Tesla Model S in Palo Alto: dream or am I awake?
What appears to be one new version of the Tesla Model S was recently spotted in Palo Alto, California about two weeks after the temporary shutdown of its vehicle production lines. The Kilowatts, a YouTube channel focusing on electric-powered travel, released a video on Friday of what appears to be a new Tesla Model S.
This brand new design appears to have a wider body compared to the Model S, updated headlights and wheelsa new rear diffuser and also a more pronounced fender.
Obviously all of this has not yet been confirmed from society therefore, as always, we invite you to take the information with a grain of salt. In any case, you can judge for yourself: below we present the video.
Spotted a new Tesla Model S Plaid?
It is unclear whether this mysterious vehicle, which was seen with the manufacturer’s plates, is one updated version of the Model S or maybe a prototype of the upcoming Model S Plaid, a high performance variant. The company said it plans to launch the S Plaid model before the end of the year with a starting price of approximately $ 140,000.
It is not quite as clear whether Tesla has incorporated any internal changes into the design identified by the Kilowatt team. In any case, even without functional changes, a redesigned Model S could certainly increase excitement for Tesla’s high-end line.
This new design could be part of why Tesla has it discontinued the production of its lines Model S and Model X recently? According to an email reviewed by CNBClast month the company informed its employees that production lines for those models would be closed from December 24 to January 11 at the Fremont, California factory.
Perhaps all this served for produce the new variant, although the reason why the lines were closed is still unknown. The outlet speculated that demand for Model S and Model X cars may have taken a hit from a recent recall of nearly 50,000 of those vehicles in China on potentially defective and unsafe suspensions.
Tesla also has expanded its warranty and started reimburse the owners of these older models after both lines started experiencing technical problems.
