Sony explains the ways to transfer save data from PS4 to PS5
Sony explains how we will be able to transfer our save data from PS4 to PS5 … an option that not all games will offer.
Sony finally clarified this week how backward compatibility will work on PS5. In addition to talking about peripherals and services, another important detail that they later elaborated in more detail on their blog is that of the save data transfer.
First, To get your PS4 games back on PS5, simply log into the PlayStation Network on PS5. You will automatically see your PS4 digital game collection in the menu, with its save data. If you have the PS5 with disc reader you can use any physical gameBut if you have the digital PS5, there will be no way to get physical games back on PS5.
You can also use LAN cables, a USB port, or WiFi connection to transmit all game and save data from PS4 to PS5. The easiest thing will be to recover them directly from the cloud, if you are a PS Plus user.
Further, PS Now will continue to be available on PS5, allowing you to stream PS4 games on the new console. Of course, the performance improvements, or Game Boost, of several PS4 games, will not work if you play on PS Now.
However, in PS4 games that have a specific version on PS5, not all of them will give the option to keep the save data. Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales or Sackboy: A Big Adventure They will allow us to keep the save data if we go from playing from one console to another. But others, like Dirt 5 or Yakuza: Like a Dragon they will not offer that option.
The The vast majority of PS4 games will be backward compatible with PS5, with 10 exceptions.
