Senior Apple officials will testify in the trial with Epic Games
Cook, Federighi and Schiller are some of the familiar faces who will attend the trial, scheduled for May 3.
The conflict between Apple and Epic Games began more than seven months ago after, in August of last year, Epic decided to add a cheaper direct payment option in Fortnite, which violated Apple and Google’s payment system and led to Apple to remove Fortnite from the App Store.
It doesn’t take much for the trial to begin. We know that senior officials from both companies will testify at the trial, in which Epic accuses Apple of anti-competitive behavior, The Verge reports.
On Apple’s side, senior officials such as CEO Tim Cook, Senior Vice President Craig Federighi and App Store Manager Phil Schiller will declare. From Epic, will be CEO Tim Sweeney and Vice President Mark Rein.
In addition, it is expected that Microsoft’s vice president of Xbox and Facebook’s vice president of gaming will also participate.
Phil Schiller will be the longest on the stand, with a total of 11 hours reserved for him.
The trial is scheduled to begin on May 3 and is expected to last several weeks.
