Resident Evil 7 with fixed cameras! A fan-made mod brings back the classic gameplay of the series
A group of fans create a mod that turns the first-person view of Resident Evil VII into the classic gameplay of the series with fixed cameras.
One of the great controversies he faced resident Evil with his fourth installment was the goodbye of fixed cameras, a gameplay that had the three classic Resident Evil, as well as Code Veronica, the remake of the first game and the Resident Evil Zero prequel.
Something that happened again with Resident Evil 7, which was betting on the first person (which was initially the idea for the first 1996 game) and a somewhat different survival horror experience … until now. And it is that a group of fans has created a nostalgic mod to play this seventh installment with fixed cameras, on PC.
You may have missed this classic gameplay in Resident Evil 7, but now you can enjoy Capcom’s excellent survival horror from a totally different perspective. It is a mix of the Modern Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6 gameplay, and the fixed cameras of the classics.
The channel Enveloping Sounds has shared a video showing how to play Resident Evil 7 with this mod. This one begins right after the first meeting with Jack Baker, just when Ethan is in the kitchen of the mansion.
We can see how the character moves with him classic control tank saga, making exploration more complex due to control. Also, we can see the complete modeling of Ethan, which has been developed based on official arts and screenshots.
Each part of this mod has been developed by different users, all of them from the Nexus Mods platform. For example, modeling Ethan winters in third person is the work of AlphaZomega and ZombieAli, while the recreation of the fixed cameras have been developed by Cheezeit and GoldedToad.

It is not the first time this has happened, and it is that Enveloping Sounds already shared a video in its day, of a mod that turned the experience from Resident Evil 2 Remake on something closer to the 1998 classic, thanks to the fixed cameras and other additions.
While we wait for Resident Evil 8 Village to arrive, with a date for the May 7th and that will repeat the first person perspective from Resident Evil 7, we invite you to try this amazing mod that will make you feel like when you played the first Resident Evil titles.
