Non-existent physical laws in movies
Neatorama makes an excellent compilation of physical laws non-existent in movies (I would say on TV too). I think almost all the ridiculous we can get to see is summed up in the Alien poster: nobody can hear you screaming in space, although in most space movies that is not a problem.
My favorites: light radioactivity, cars flying across bridges or buildings just because they’re “fast,” and of course, as I mentioned above: sound traveling in space.
Personally I would mention how the sonic consequences of a nearby explosion are completely ignored. Jack bauer You should be totally and completely deaf considering the number of explosions you have been exposed to. Children of Men and Heat they are great exceptions in this regard.
