Nintendo plans a new Super Mario movie
Earlier this year, Nintendo announced its animated film Super Mario Bros, which will see Chris Pratt take on the role of Mario and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach. The news, in itself, has already tickled the curiosity of fans. Except that Shigeru Miyamotocreator of the saga, has revealed that Nintendo is intent on expanding its cinematic proposal with a new film and other characters.
Super Mario Bros: another film curated by Nintendo is scheduled
“The Super Mario movie is pretty much finished, even though they’re still refining the movie.” So said Miyamoto during a presentation of the financial results of the second quarter of 2021 of Nintendo. On this occasion, he revealed that he and the company “have a great feeling about it, but we are very careful not to betray customers and meet expectations”. In addition, Miyamoto hinted that he would like to see different characters and franchises to be implemented within the Nintendo universe, as he hopes that people can “experience them in a variety of different ways”.
Q: Super Mario movie, are there other movies to come?
A: Super Mario Film is pretty much done, working on the last bit, have a very good feeling about it, but we are very careful not to betray customers and meet expectations, continue to work to polish the movie. 4)

On the other hand, the company is trying to expand into the world of cinema with the release of new titles. Despite this, Miyamoto has reassured Nintendo fans that the video game section will not suffer any downturn. Indeed, new titles will continue to be released on the market, from which new films will likely be made in the future. For the moment, we know that the Super Mario Bros release is scheduled for 2022. This means that to see new proposals in the cinema we would have to wait at least a couple of years. A sacrifice we are willing to make. After all, it is quite clear that the wait for the new Super Mario movie is long. But knowing that there will even be two on the way only increases our expectations.
