Nikon triumphs at the 2020-2021 EISA Awards with the Z 50, D780 and two optics
Best camera 2020: difficult to choose which device deserves this title. To the EISA Awards they try it by bringing together the best experts in the sector and comparing many high quality products with each other. Nikon impressed again this year, winning the award Best Buy for Nikon Z 50 And best Full Frame camera with D780. Two goals also bring home a prize: AF-S Nikkor 120-300mm f / 2.8E FL ED SR VR is the best Professional Zoom Telephoto lens while Nikkor Z 85mm f / 1.8 S wins as best optics for portraits.
Nikon Z 50 is the best camera of 2020 for quality / price
The camera APS-C / DX Nikon Z 50 (our review here) wowed the EISA jury for its light and compact structure. But what got her the Best Buy award is the really competitive price. The recent firmware update 2.0 brings the Auto Focus with animal detection, which adds to the very useful eye detection. The processor EXPEED 6 allows you to record videos in 4K at 30 fps or 120 fps in Full HD. A compact camera with an applause price, like those received by the EISA jury.
D780 is the best Full Frame
There Nikon D780 full-frame digital SLR (our analysis here) outperformed the competition. The EXPEED 6 processor guarantees ISO up to 51,200, which give infinite possibilities in post-production. The monitor Touchscreen LCD you can recline to record and take photos in any position. Video capabilities are great: up to 4K UHD 3 fps with N-Log, slow motion and timelapse footage. L’Hybrid AF allows fast shots and shots always in focus.
Two high-end Nikkor lenses
At the EISA Nikon won not only the award for the best Best Buy and Full Frame camera of 2020 but also for two really interesting lenses.
NIKKOR 120-300mm f / 2.8E FL ED SR VR won best professional telephoto zoom. The maximum aperture of f / 2.8 for the whole range of focal lengths it allows you to take excellent portraits but also to work for sports and nature photography. This lens gives incredible resolutions to full frame SLRs, with one minimal chromatic aberration. The excellent stabilization allows you to use it on all occasions.
NIKKOR Z 85mm f / 1.8 S instead he took home the award as Optician Portrait. This great component for the mirrorless Z system Nikon takes advantage of the classic focal length of 85mm in a unique way. The opening f / 1.8 donate just the right amount of softness and blurs the edges, great for portrait painters. Without distortion, the autofocus allows shots in all conditions.
The EISA 2020-2021 celebrated Nikon, capable of winning for the best Full Frame camera and for the quality / price ratio as well as for two excellent Nikkor lenses. Which is always an honor, even if Nikon’s are used to it by now. We are confident that they are already thinking about the products to win next year.
