Minecraft celebrates 10th birthday with Minecraft Earth
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of his birth, Minecraft unveiled the new augmented reality mobile game “Minecraft Earth”, Playable on iOS and Android. Experience new adventures: With “Minecraft Earth”, the player will be able to explore the real world in search of blocks, chests or creatures called Tappables. While walking, he will also come across “Adventures”, small portions of Minecraft worlds in augmented reality, which will transform the sidewalk into a diamond mine or the trees of the park into hiding places for skeletons ready to do some tricks. Players will collect resources, fight creatures, and gain experience points to progress through the game. Collect, Explore and Survive: “Minecraft Earth” will feature many Minecraft Vanilla creatures that fans already know and love, along with some entirely new ones. Over time, players will be able to discover and collect unique variants and use them to populate buildings, obtain resources and face new challenges.
Let yourself be surrounded by the creations of the Minecraft world: “Minecraft Earth” players will be able to build their own permanent creations with Build Plates, the best manifestation of Vanilla’s creative spirit. It can be created both in small environments, such as a desk, interacting from above and by placing the Build Plates on the ground to admire the creations in the open air and life-size. Collaborative multiplayer: Optimized for multiplayer experiences, anyone with an AR-capable smartphone and “Minecraft Earth” installed will be able to quickly join another session and have fun together. Technology and imagination: “Minecraft Earth” combines Microsoft’s cutting-edge technologies, such as Azure Spatial Anchor Monitoring, with PlayFab to create an advanced augmented reality gaming experience.
