Microsoft officially launches Xbox Cloud Gaming for iOS devices via Safari

Microsoft’s initial goal was to launch its cloud gaming service, xCloud, known as Xbox Cloud Gaming, directly on the App Store, but as we all know, Apple was not a supporteralthough it changed the guidelines, a change that Microsoft did not like, which forced Satya Nadella’s company to bet on the same route as Amazon Luna: use Safari so that iOS users could enjoy the gaming platform on Microsoft streaming.

Microsoft launched a limited beta earlier this year, allowing gamers to test the service on iOS devices before the public launch. Although users who were part of this beta, stated that the experience was not as smooth as possiblefrom the company they stated that they were working to solve this problem at the time of its official launch.

Yesterday, Microsoft announced that its Xbox Cloud Gaming service is now available to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on PC along with all users of devices managed by iOS 14.4 or higher, mind you, only through Safari, Chrome or Edge browserboth in their version for iOS.

The hardware that we can find in this streaming game platform is similar to the one we can find on the Xbox Series Xrather than the Xbox One X, which initially handled streaming of games, so load times will be shorter and games will stream smoothly at 1080 and 60fps.

In the Microsoft statement, we can read:

We’ve been upgrading Microsoft data centers around the world with the fastest, most powerful Xbox hardware to bring you faster load times, improved frame rates, and a next-gen gaming experience.

To ensure the lowest latency and highest quality experience on the largest number of devices, we will stream at 1080p and up to 60fps. In the future we will continue to innovate and add more features to enhance your cloud gaming experience.

For access Xbox Cloud Gaming, we must visit the following link from one of the browsers that I have mentioned (Safari, Chrome or Edge) and enter the subscription data for this service. Xbox Cloud Gaming is compatible with bluetooth controls and a connection of 10 Mbps or higher and a 5G connection is recommended if we want to play from the iPhone.
