iPad Pro, Magic Keyboard and Pitaka MagEZ Case, the perfect combination
We tested the Pitaka MagEZ Case Protective Case, the perfect match for your iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboardoffering you greater protection without losing all the advantages of the Apple keyboard.
Apple’s Magic Keyboard is the perfect companion for iPad Pro. A full keyboard that attaches magnetically to iPad, never needs to be recharged, backlit, and with a multi-touch trackpad, which also hardly adds thickness to the whole. But its minimalist design has its drawbacks, and as usual, they come from the protection side, since it only takes care of the back and front of the iPad, completely exposing the aluminum frame. How about a case that would protect that frame without detracting from the Magic Keyboard? Well, that’s exactly what the Pitaka MagEZ Case does.
Made of Aramid, it is a very light and thin case, but it guarantees good protection for your iPad right where it needs it most. The case fits like a second skin to the iPad Pro, and as such does not interfere at all with the placement of the Magic Keyboard, which continues to join with the same magnetic force as without it. Furthermore, the smart connector remains functionally intact, so the Apple keyboard will recharge as usual.
MagEZ Case recites the entire iPad Frame except for the side where the Magic Keyboard hinge is placed. Speakers and USB-C connector have their corresponding space in the case, and the buttons are covered but with a soft touch. The grid pattern on the back gives it a modern look, it’s a case that because of how comfortable you can remove it from the Magic Keyboard, it’s excellent for those times when you want to use the iPad away from its keyboardwithout fear of scratching the surface or that a small drop could damage your tablet.
When we say that not a single detail detracts from the functionality of the iPad and the Magic Keyboard, we are not exaggerating. The sleeve covers the area intended to recharge the Apple Pencil, but it is so thin that we can continue to magnetically attach it to the frame of the iPad Pro and recharge it, as if we were not wearing anything on our iPad. The magnetic connection is not slightly diminished in strength, although if you are one of those who hate that the Apple Pencil stays in the backpack every time you take the iPad out of the bag, or you are afraid that it will fall when you carry it on the street , you are going to love our next accessory.
Pitaka offers, together with the MagEZ Case, as an extra accessory, a card holder that is used to close the iPad-Magic Keyboard set and that also holds the Apple Pencil so that it does not fall out. In its slot you can carry a couple of cards, to always have them at hand, and you also have the enormous peace of mind that your Apple Pencil will stay in place no matter what you do. The card holder is not magnetic, it is attached thanks to its clip-shaped design, and it is inserted and removed in just a few seconds.
The protection that the Magic Keyboard offers iPad Pro isn’t exactly its greatest asset, and this MagEZ Case from Pitaka is the perfect solution. Light, thin and virtually invisible, it adds extra protection right where you need it: the frame. The magnetic attachment to the Magic Keyboard is excellent, and the one that allows you to recharge the Apple Pencil as usual, a great detail. If you also complement it with the clip-card holder that can be purchased separately, you have the perfect set to take your iPad Pro anywhere. The price of the MagEZ Case is $69.99 on any model (iPad Pro 12.9″ and 11″, iPad Air 10.9″). You can buy it from that link on the Pitaka website: link. The price of the card clip is $28.99.
