From today you can play Skyrim with Alexa, here is the Very Special Edition
During the press conference Bethesda at E3 2018 we witnessed the unusual presentation of Skyrim: Very Special Edition.
What appeared to be a hilarious publicity stunt – complete with a gag starring actor Keegan Michael-Key – is actually a real skill for Alexa, which will allow us to “play” the popular role-playing game with Amazon’s voice assistant.
Skyrim: Very Special Edition comes up Amazon Alexa
In the presentation – if we want to consider it so – of Skyrim: Very Special Edition we see the good Michael-Key playing his favorite role-playing game. Switch? Xbox? No, “Alexa, play Skyrim!”.
The protagonist was therefore able to begin his adventure with the voice assistant, who would have described in detail the game scenario and any obstacles that arise in front of him. At that point our hero launched into the fray, throwing swipes and ‘FUS RO DAH’ left and right, but with only the use of his voice.
The audience of the conference had taken it all as a brilliant joke concocted by Todd Howard and associates, but, in reality, Skyrim: Very Special Edition it’s a real one skill for Alexa, therefore installable on your Amazon Echo come on Amazon Dot.
According to Polygon, however, the “vocal” version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim would be playable even without a smart device. Just your Android and iOS smartphone would be enough to use the new Alexa skill, by downloading it from the special app available on the Play Store and App Store – downloadable only in the United States at the moment – and launch the command “Alexa, open Skyrim”; you will then be ready to take on the role of Dovahkiin.
It is not yet clear whether that of the Very Special Edition both the full version of Skyrim, but the fact remains that Bethesda actually managed to bring it to Amazon Alexa and that feat deserves every possible recognition.
