Firefox Lockwise: Mozilla stops supporting the app

Mozilla has just stated via an official post that this year he will be discontinuing support for his password mananger app, Firefox Lockwise. The app, currently available on iOS and Android, will no longer be available for installation or reinstallation starting December 13th. This means that iOS 1.8.1 and Android 4.0.3 will be the latest versions of the app.

Mozilla is about to discontinue support for the Firefox Lockwise app

According to Mozilla’s official post, users will still be able to access saved passwords and manage them via Firefox’s desktop and mobile browsers, so it’s clear that termination of support will only affect the standalone app. The service in the strict sense will still be active, only more inconvenient to reach.

Uptime, Google’s latest app for YouTube is now available to everyone

A choice that, on the other hand, appears to be at least understandable, given that Lockwise has never reached the level of popularity of other managing password applications such as LastPass and 1Password. If you need similar software, we advise you to focus on one of these two options, since they can be fundamental to manage all access credentials and to protect your identity and sensitive data.
