FiLMiC Pro multi-camera recording will also come to iPhone XS and iPhone XR
We have already said on many occasions that the most surprising thing about the new iPhone 11 Pro is undoubtedly the device’s new cameras, 3 cameras that will delight any lover of mobile photography. One of the demos that surprised me the most during the Keynote was the presentation of the new version of FiLMiC Pro.
A new update that will bring us an interesting multi-camera recording that will take advantage of all the cameras of the new iPhone 11 Pro, up to 4 simultaneous recordings, nothing more and nothing less. But the best thing is that this is not only going to be for the new iPhone 11, It can also be used on 2018 devices: iPhone XR and iPhone XS. After the jump we tell you more about how this new multi-camera recording of FiLMiC Pro will be with old devices…
Multi-camera recording with 2018 devices (iPhone XS and iPhone XR) will be possible in FiLMiC Pro but with some buts… Mainly you have to keep in mind that these devices do not have 3 rear cameras like those of the iPhone 11 Pro, therefore they will only be able to use two cameras simultaneously. obviously the iPhone XR will use the device’s front camera as a second camerasomething very interesting when recording an interview for example.
The iPhone XS yes, it would have the possibility of three cameras taking into account the front one but due to the hardware of the device you can only use two cameras simultaneouslysomething that reduces the possibilities to: camera rear angle + camera rear zoom, or either of the two cameras + the front camera Of the device. Limitations that are actually advantages since this opens new possibilities when making recordings with our devices. We’ll let you know as soon as this new version of FiLMiC Pro is available (I’m afraid it will be a paid extra within the app) for iPhone with the new multi-camera recording.
