DxOMark elects Huawei P40 Pro “king of photography” among smartphones


Huawei’s new flagship, the P40 Pro was announced last week and photography was once again the aspect that the Chinese brand has been keen to emphasize as the strength of its new top-of-the-range smartphone. DxOMark has done nothing but confirm the good that can be expected from the photographic sector of the P40 Pro and has “imprinted” the quality mark, after a careful analysis of the various rear and front cameras. DxOMark has therefore elected this new smartphone a “King of photography” among the various models currently on the market.

Record of points in DxOMark

The Huawei smartphone scored 128 points from the DxOMark marker, outperforming the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G with 123 points, and the competitors Oppo Find X2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro, both with 124 points. Within the ranking Samsung has its Note 10+ with 117 points and the Galaxy S10 5G with 116 points, while Apple is at 106 points with the iPhone XS Max.

The DxOMark analysis of the Huawei P 40 Pro turned to the main camera, integrated into a system with four Leica-branded sensorswhich include a 50MP Ultra Vision wide angle sensor, a 1.9f aperture RYYB sensor with OIS stabilizer, completed with a 40MP cinematic lens, a 12MP periscope with 5X optical zoom and a TOF lens

Among the main advantages that have guaranteed a record score above all stand out the extended dynamic range, the detail of the photos taken using the zoom and the ability to focus on objects quickly and faithfully in various lighting conditions. The balance between the texture and noise of the photos was also highlighted, as well as the exposure in night images. Less positive were some errors occasionally found in terms of color rendering and white balance and under exposure to bright light.
