Despite AppleTV + and Disney +, Netflix will still be the King
Netflix is going through what could be the worst moments in its history, without a doubt. The company is now surrounded by rivals in a business that it practically created, now we find HBO, Disney+, AppleTV+ and a host of products, each offering something that characterizes it and makes the customer rethink the offer. Nonetheless, a recent survey suggests that 75% of Netflix users are not at all interested in AppleTV + or Disney + in the short term, which supposes a strengthening of the position (at least) of its users.
For its part, Netflix announces having lost around 120,000 users during the month of July only in the United States of America, This may be closely related to the fact that the brand is launching more and more “own productions” at the cost of ceasing to serve third-party content, and to the constant price increases that have been taking place for two years, catapulting the service in 4K for four users from 12 euros to 16 euros today. For its part, the consultant Piper Jaffray has surveyed 1,500 users, obtaining interesting results that contrast with the predictions of the press.
72% of Netflix users do not plan to subscribe to Disney+ and 77% of current Netflix users do not plan to subscribe to AppleTV+ either (In the United States of America). In addition, the vast majority of respondents have stated that even if they subscribed to one of these two new services, they would maintain their Netflix subscription. There is a significant price difference between the prices of Netflix and these two rival services, which can either make the difference or make them complementary. Time will decide if Netflix really has something to fear, but everything indicates that it does not, despite the low quality of the content released lately.
