The story so far: chaos reigns supreme
“The pieces are in position … Give the order.” – Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin
Russel Adler is finally free, but the world is certainly not safe. After Frank Woods extracted Adler on June 10, 1984, Stitch, Wraith and Knight, Perseus’ agents, gathered at a top secret location to discuss the new mission. The CIA rescue mission was faster than expected and their satellites disrupt Perseus’ broadcasts, disrupting Stitch’s great experiment on Verdansk’s “guinea pigs”. But Perseus has another ace up his sleeve and another agent is ready to make the next move in this chess game for world domination.
We see this agent, a menacing metal-faced attacker, raid a CIA ground station in South Africa on June 26, 1984. He reaches the control room, where he takes a satellite specialist hostage and telephones Stitch, who gives instructions to the hostage to bring down two CIA satellites at specific points in Verdansk and Algeria. As the satellites plummet to Earth, Perseus ‘masked agent strangles his victim, eliminating any issue in Perseus’ climb to world domination.
The next day, one of the satellites crashed in the middle of the Algerian desert. A NATO team led by the CIA is on site to assess the damage, neutralize any hostilities and obtain information from the satellite. At the head of this task force is Adler himself, after weeks of rehabilitation. Although he has passed numerous tests regarding his physical and mental health, at the sight of the satellite something clicks in Adler’s head. Ignoring his companions, he tumbles to attack, eliminating anyone who gets in his way to retrieve a coding from the satellite.
After being questioned for his behavior, he becomes even more aggressive towards his allies.
“You don’t understand the war we are fighting, do you?” Adler responds to an Egyptian recruit.
“Stitch is capable of anything.”
