BMW Group closes the first quarter of 2021 with excellent results


The first quarter of 2021 went to the archives with a clear growth for BMW Group sales on an international scale. The company, in fact, recorded a net growth trend in all the main regions of the world. Completing the record quarter for the BMW Group are excellent results for electrified vehicles, which recorded a doubling of sales compared to last year.

Sales up in the first quarter for the BMW Group

During the first three months of 2021, the BMW Group has delivered a total of 636,606 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles. Compared to the same period last year there is a growth of + 33.5%. This is a new all-time high for the company. During the quarter, BMW Group increased sales in all major regions of the world compared to the same period last year.

It should also be noted that all the brands of the Bavarian company are showing a growing result. For BMW, sales are up + 36.2% with over 560,000 units sold. MINI records over 74 thousand units sold worldwide with a growth of + 16%.

The group also distributed over 70 thousand electrified units during the first quarter of the year, doubling global sales of both PHEV vehicles and 100% electric models.

Pieter Note, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Responsible for Customer, Brands and Sales, points out: “The sales performance was particularly driven by the high demand for electrified vehicles. In the past three months, we have doubled global sales of electrified vehicles compared to the same period last year. This puts us on track to deliver more than 100,000 fully electric vehicles this year, totaling at least one million electrified vehicles on the road by the end of 2021 ″
