Another delay for the Metal Gear Solid board game: arrives in 2021

The Metal Gear Solid board game has been postponed again: the producer IDW Games announced Friday that we can’t play it up to the summer of 2021.

The wait for the Metal Gear Solid board game continues

We’ve been waiting for Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game for some time now. We first told you about it on Nerd Pride at the end of 2018. In November 2019, IDW Games announced that the game would be ready for summer 2020. So much so that many were thrilling for a few games with a table version of the Snake for this August.

On Friday, however, the manufacturer of the game released a statement in which it postponed the release date of a specific year. IDW asked itself what it calls the “big question”: because? The explanation they give concerns quality standards: they do not want to compromise, respecting the date but disappointing expectations.

IDW said it is still working with the celebrated game designer Emerson Matsuuchi to bring his vision to our tables. It doesn’t matter when they take it. However, they also pointed out that the game is almost ready: this week enters the final test lap.

The developers have also announced what the final price of the game will be. Those who had already ordered the Metal Gear Solid board game paid $ 109 for it, while the game costs $ 125 upon releaseso $ 16 more.

In the coming months IDW has promised to show the game components and some missions, as well as some videos that show the gameplay. Not only that: those who have made the pre-order can expect an invitation to the virtual version on Tabletop Simulator and Tabletopia for March 2021.
