Adult Swim celebrates one year of Animal Crossing with a Rick and Morty crossover

The March 20 was the first anniversary from Animal Crossing: New Horizons and to celebrate Adult Swim released a one and a half minute video titled “Rick and Morty Crossing “, a crossover between the hit video game and the animated series Rick & Morty. Below we present the trailer.

Rick & Morty in the world of Animal Crossing

Rick & Morty is one of the most popular shows on the net and its multiverse structure allows characters to be placed in any kind of situation. This is exactly what Adult Swim wanted to do to celebrate Animal Crossing’s first anniversary.

“Rick and Morty Crossing”, written and directed by kyttenjanae, is not long enough to be a real short, but it is a funny video And well done. At the beginning of the video we see Rick standing creating something in the garage Smith’s, as usual. Morty gets excited off the couch to join his grandfather, grabbing a waiting ax. After pressing a button, Rick and Morty magically enter the Animal Crossing digital world.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is coming to the App Store on November 22

Rick and Morty’s village was made with it same artistic style of the Nintendo game. In this short but intense adventure Rick builds a giant robot with a crystal and destroys Morty’s tent, while Morty experiments with the typical Animal Crossing misfortunes like falling and being stung by wasps.

The ending of the video is really explosive and we believe it is the case that you see it without any spoilers. The contrast between the comic joy and the calm of the world of Animal Crossing and the abysmal terror of the real world it’s as powerful an illustration as any other. It’s what made New Horizons so important to most audiences throughout 2020.
